Receiving Clerk

This is a full-time, on-site role for a shipping and receiving associate at Let's Sew, located in Evansville, IN.

A shipping and receiving clerk manages the movement of materials and products in and out of a facility. This includes receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming items, as well as preparing outgoing shipments, maintaining records, and ensuring efficient and accurate handling of all goods.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Receiving: Unloading deliveries, verifying items against purchase orders or packing lists, inspecting for damage or discrepancies, and properly storing received goods.
  • Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, tracking inventory levels, and potentially participating in cycle counts.
  • Documentation: Preparing and maintaining shipping and receiving records, including tracking information and any required paperwork for customs or other regulations.
  • Communication: Collaborating with vendors, carriers, and internal departments (e.g., logistics, customer service) regarding shipment details and any issues.
  • Warehouse Operations: Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, operating other equipment for material handling, and adhering to safety procedures.

Essential Skills:

  • Organization and attention to detail: Managing multiple tasks, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring shipments are accurate and complete are crucial.
  • Communication skills: Effectively communicating with vendors, carriers, and internal teams is essential for coordinating shipments and resolving issues.
  • Shipping: Preparing items for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and creating necessary documentation (e.g., packing slips, bills of landing).
  • Problem-solving skills: Addressing discrepancies, damages, or other issues that arise during the shipping and receiving process.
  • Computer skills: Utilizing software for inventory management, shipping documentation, and communication.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
